Music Majors do what?

4-1-1 Undergraduate Programs at LSU
The Department of Music offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, a Bachelor of Music degree with two areas of concentration, performance and music education, and a Bachelor of Science degree in music technology. The Bachelor of Arts degree is especially useful for students wanting to do a double major in a pre-professional course of study. A Minor in Music or Music Technology is also available.

The Department of Music also offers the Performer's Certificate program as a full-time course of study designed for promising performers who need intensive training on their instrument or voice in order to enhance their employment opportunities or to prepare for graduate studies. Although a baccalaureate degree is not required for admission, applicants must meet the performance level which is required for graduation from the undergraduate performance program. Since this is a special program and not a standard degree, no academic credit is given. If academic credit is desired, the regular tuition costs will apply.
